Gardening With A Purpose: Peace Pots

This is a hands-on gardening experience where students will enjoy a guided meditation with Jai on the beautiful deck of The Woman's Earth. Following meditation, we will learn about Peace Pots. A Peace Pot is a potted houseplant comprising of two or more plants of different varieties sharing a single grow space. The plants selected should encourage harmony, balance, and cleansing. Peace Pots work well indoors and can be placed by your bed, in your office, or in a meditation space. In this class you will learn the benefits, how to select the plants, and take care of Peace Pots.

About Our Teacher

Leonard was born in the Caribbean but was raised in the US. Despite growing up and living in cityscapes, his connection with nature was always evident. As a child he would walk miles a day collecting fruits, flowers and playing with insects. When he visits his home (Jamaica), it isn't to play tourist. Much time is spent working on the family farm taking care of goats, learning beekeeping, planting and harvesting exotic fruits and delicious veggies.

Today Leonard lives with his beautiful wife Amanda. They are happy home growers and are working towards a goal of providing the majority of their food for themselves. They grow food using natural processes and techniques that are sustainable and earth friendly.
