Supporting Pregnant and Breastfeeding Women during a Pandemic


Workshop Description: This workshop will provide birth workers with strategies to support pregnant and breastfeeding women during our "new normal". We will discuss topics such as how to transition to virtual consults, preparing for the hospital, breastfeeding education/tips and more. This educational workshop will be informative for birth workers, pregnant/new mommies, or even a support person. My goal is to guide you on how to help pregnant women transition to motherhood as smoothly, and safely as possible.

About Brittaney Davidson

My name is Brittaney Davidson I am a native Houstonian. I graduated from Howard University with my Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2011. I have over 8 years of experience as a registered nurse, working with healthy and critically ill infants, in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. After having my daughter in late 2015, I really struggled with breastfeeding; That hardship sparked a passion in me, and I decided I wanted help support women during one of the most vulnerable times in their life. I am now certified lactation consultant with over 2 years of experience helping Houston area mothers. I am the founder of Just Mommie and Me, which offers in home and virtual breastfeeding support. I also work in the Southwest Houston area as a community health nurse, educating and supporting low income, first time mothers. One of my primary goals is the help decrease the disparities in breastfeeding, and infant/ maternal mortality in the African American community.
